Tips for choosing new tires
I know! Now you will think... What kind of tire I have to buy? Which is the one that best suits my needs?
Before buying tires you should ask these questions:
-
In what weather conditions do I usually drive?
-
What are the worst situations I can face?
-
Where do I drive regularly? City streets, highways, dirt tracks?
-
What type of vehicle do I have and what is my driving style: sporty or softer?
The tires may all seem similar, but the truth is that depending on the conditions and uses that are given to them, there are several options to consider. Once you know what size your car manufacturer recommends, it's important to be able to choose between the different types of tires on the market.
What types of tires should I choose?
Summer or winter tires
If you live in an area with a wet, rainy, and snowy climate, consider choosing winter tires. Trust me, when it comes to braking you will notice a significant difference in terms of car control.
If you use summer tires in winter, stop now! You are taking a big risk. The rubber of summer tires loses elasticity when temperatures are below 7ºC.
Another missing feature in summer tires is tearing in the tires that make driving on wet roads difficult.
All Season Tires
In theory, all-season tires seem like a good solution, but the reality is very different.
All-season tires perform less well than summer tires in summer and winter tires in winter.
Puncture resistant tire
The puncture proof tire is a great choice for daily drivers. The puncture-resistant tire is equipped with the technology RunFlat, which allows the driver to drive for an additional 80 km with a flat tire, at a maximum speed of 80 km/h.
